Austin names city of Dallas alum as new CISO

Brian Gardner has been named the new Chief Information Security Officer for the city of Austin.

Previously serving as Austin’s deputy CIO since February, Gardner steps into the role following the retirement of the former CISO. In his new position, Gardner will oversee the city's cybersecurity strategy and operations, using public and private sector experience, including his leadership as CISO and interim CIO for the city of Dallas.

IT exec joins El Paso team as CIO

Carolyn Patrick has been appointed as the new Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the city of El Paso, stepping into the role on May 20.

A native of El Paso with over 25 years of experience in IT across federal and local government, she will now oversee the city’s complex technology operations. In her new position, Patrick will lead strategic technology initiatives, infrastructure modernization and digital innovation.

Heath names municipal leader as new city manager

Steven Alexander has been named the new city manager and chief executive officer for the city of Heath.

He brings more than two decades of experience in municipal leadership, most recently serving as assistant town administrator for Highland Park. In his new role, he will oversee Heath's day-to-day operations, long-term planning and strategic initiatives.

Public sector leader joins city of Duncanville team

The city of Duncanville has announced long-time public sector advocate, Mark J. Rauscher, will join the city's leadership team earlier this week. Rauscher, who previously worked for the city of Sunnyvale, will assume the assistant city manager role.

Rauscher brings more than 20 years of public service into this new role, managing municipal operations, capital planning efforts and community engagement. The new assistant city manager will now oversee economic development, planning, parks and recreation and communications and marketing.
