Flower Mound appoints new town secretary

Traci Henderson has been appointed as the new town secretary for Flower Mound, effective July 7.

Henderson currently serves as assistant city secretary for North Richland Hills and will assume a new role following the retirement of Theresa Scott. As town secretary, Henderson will oversee records management, elections, meeting agenda and minutes, boards and commissions appointments and council administrative support.

Corpus Christi Downtown Management District names new executive director

Arlene Medrano has been appointed as the new executive director of the Corpus Christi Downtown Management District (CCDMD) Board of Directors, effective July 1.

Medrano currently serves as interim executive director and steps into the role following the departure of Alyssa B. Mason. Before joining CCDMD, Medrano held multiple positions with the City of Corpus Christi in Administration, the Fire Department and Finance & Business Development.

Dayton appoints interim city manager as new city manager

Derek Woods has been appointed as the new city manager for Dayton.

Woods has served as interim city manager since September 2024 and brings 20 years of law enforcement experience to the role. During his nine months as interim city manager, he has overseen numerous projects including the water well project and the Sawmill Road Lift Station upgrade.

Hidalgo ISD names new superintendent

J.A. Gonzalez has been appointed as the new superintendent for Hidalgo Independent School District (ISD).

Gonzalez brings 28 years of experience in education to the role and has worked as a teacher, coach, principal, professor and administrator. Throughout his career, he has launched programs such as STEAM-Plus education, collegiate academies, mental health initiatives and career pathways for students.
