Pennsylvania – Anna Paulson has been appointed as the next president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, effective July 1, 2025. Paulson currently serves as executive vice president and director of research at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, where she advises on monetary policy. She will succeed Patrick T. Harker after his 10-year tenure concludes. 

Virginia – Thomas E. "Teddy" Gottwald has been elected board president of the Virginia Military Institute Board of Visitors. Gottwald, who is chairman and CEO of a specialty chemicals and petroleum additives company, will fulfill the remaining term of previous president John Adams until June 30. He was first appointed to the board by Gov. Ralph Northam and later reappointed by Gov. Glenn Youngkin in 2022. 

Utah – Heather Sneddon and Jodi Emery have been appointed as Park City's new deputy city managers, both beginning their roles on April 21. Sneddon, a veteran attorney with private sector experience, will oversee housing, economic development and planning. Emery, a Park City native with a background in nonprofit leadership and higher education, will oversee human resources, IT, finance and trails. 

Illinois – Christopher Walton has been appointed as Champaign's next deputy city manager, effective June 2, 2025. Walton currently serves as the chief administrative officer for the Village of Savoy and previously served as Champaign's assistant to the city manager from 2018-2020. 

Oklahoma – Kendal Francis has been appointed as the new city manager for Muskogee, effective May 5, 2025. Francis brings 30 years of municipal government experience, having served as city manager in multiple Kansas cities including Coffeyville, Hutchinson and Great Bend, and most recently as city administrator in Jamaica Beach, Texas. 

Virginia – Joseph Gilkerson has been appointed as director of human resources for the City of Charlottesville. Gilkerson previously served as director of human resources for Prince William County government. Before transitioning into HR, he served as an infantry unit leader in the United States Marine Corps. 

West Virginia – Dr. Bethany Meighen has been appointed as the 13th president of Concord University, effective July 2025. Meighen currently serves as vice president for academic and student affairs at the University of North Carolina System. She will succeed Kendra S. Boggess, who is retiring in August after 41 years at the university. 

California – Barbara Lee has been elected as the new mayor of Oakland. Lee is a 78-year-old progressive icon and former U.S. representative who served the city in Congress for over two decades. She will finish out the remainder of former Mayor Sheng Thao's term following Thao's recall in November. 

Virginia – Sean D. Galloway has been appointed as William & Mary's new chief financial officer, effective June 10. Galloway brings more than two decades of finance experience and joins from Franklin & Marshall College in Pennsylvania, where he served in various roles since 2016, most recently as associate vice president for finance and acting vice president. 

New Hampshire – Dean Savramis has been named the new executive director of Albacore Park, a national landmark site featuring the USS Albacore submarine. Savramis brings a 28-year career with FEMA and previously worked for the Department of the Navy at multiple locations including Portsmouth and Mare Island Naval Shipyards.  

Minnesota – Tracy Hodel has been appointed as St. Cloud's new city administrator, effective May 12. Hodel brings 24 years of experience working for the city, most recently serving as public services director. She will replace former city administrator Matthew Staehling, who left in January.
